Chamel Fields does not have an AAA
star rating by choice (the cost of doing so is 2 weekends worth of
holidays), but please be assured that we have your best interests at heart,
and have every intention of offering you a quality farmstay holiday none the
less. The last time we were assessed, we made 3 1/2 stars.
| Accommodation: Chamel Fields is located at Prospect Hill, South Australia,
1/2 way down the Fleurieu Peninsula. The cottage, 1930's and refurbished, is
comfortably and cosily appointed. It is well sound-proofed, allowing for privacy and a
good sleep in despite all the farm noises that go on from dawn,
especially the Donkey Alarm, named Yanthe! |

Accommodation includes a large master bedroom with a queen sized
bed and a second bedroom with a bunk bed and trundle. The sofa in the lounge room also serves as a
double foldaway bed, thus comfortably catering for at least 6. Bigger families and two families holidaying together have been
accommodated as well. |
| The dining room, kitchen and lounge are surprisingly spacious and
open out onto a shady sun porch. The kitchen is adequately appointed and the building is easily
warmed with a slow combustion stove. Electric blankets and
electric heaters are also provided. All linen is supplied. The
cottage stays relatively cool in summer and there is air conditioning in
the lounge room available for those occasional
very hot days. |

Continental or farm breakfast provisions are
available or you have the option to cater for yourself. Meadows,
just 10 minutes away boasts a pleasant hotel dining room, a good fish
and chip shop and a yummy bakery/restaurant, and all are user friendly for children. And
don't forget the Southern Vales Wineries and the superb restaurants in McLaren Vale, 15
minutes from here in the other direction! |
