TRAINING TIME

Chamel Fields horses are all trained by Judith from Day 1.  First lesson is to put your nose into a halter, then let me touch you all over.  As Judith is now a bit of a geriatric with a troublesome back,  most training is done sitting down as seen below with a patient (and well behaved) 5 month old colt, Titan, remembering his moves.

A rewarding scratch                                                           Just stay there, please.                                                            And now the back foot.

And in the round yard, last years geldings are put through their paces  by Dutch WWOOFer, Manon.

Prince, Jack, Cadet, Goldie and Chockie, being good boys.

BRAG TIME!

A number of Chamel Fields foals have been successful in the show ring over the years; some have moved on to new homes and some are still here.  Chamel Fields has been breeding winners for over 12 years.  Here is the line up.
It is with congratulations that I introduce the foals now living elsewhere, and with pride, of course, for all of them.   I am now unable to show myself due to health problems and time constraints, so it is particularly gratifying that some are making their way in the world in the more capable hands of others.

And hot off the press, one of this season's little ladies:

Chamel Fields Pandora       Congratulations to her owners, Mel and Julie Jackson for a great showing at the Foal Show, Oakbank, May 2011 for Supreme Exhibit of the Show!

Sire: Fairyland King of Hearts  Dam: Chamel Fields Fruehling, now also owned by the Jacksons.

Chamel Fields Chemise

Chemise, a buckskin yearling filly, is home from the National Show in Sydney Easter 2009, where she won  Reserve National Champion Filly IN 2009.

 Congratulations, Chemise.
(Shown by D Cotton)

Sire: Bond Kid Gloves
Dam: Chamel Fields Windsong

  Chamel Fields Doublet
Palomino gelding, owned by Donna Bootle of Meadows, SA.
'Dubbie' continues to do well, winning consistently as he matures.

Sire: Ashfield Park Napoleonic Legend
Dam: Belka Valley's Cosmic Smoke

   Chamel Fields Whisket
Bay filly, owned by Donna Bootle of Meadows, SA.  Whisket acts as if she was born to the show ring, and is doing very well for herself.  She actually had the affrontery to roll into Donna's lap as a weanling (that hooked Donna, and no, I didn't teach her to) and she's been showing off every since.
RIP
  Sire: Ashfield Park Napoleonic Legend
  Dam: Chamel Fields Fruehling

Chamel Fields Cavalier
Chestnut stallion, owned by Donna Bootle of Meadows, SA. Known as "Ruff' at home, Cavalier is a little gentleman who has also succeeded in the show ring in his first show season.

Sire: Ashfield Park Napoleonic Legend
Dam: Chamel Fields Velvet Moon

Chamel Fields Sweet William
William made his fame as a yearling in Victoria in 2004, winning at Ballarat, the Victoria State Champs and the Nationals.  William is now a mature 30" and remains as fine as he appears in this photo taken in 2004!
Since then, he has been 'stallion in waiting' at Chamel Fields, although he has had 2 foals, a little chestnut pinto gelding, CF Maestro and this season, a black/brown filly, CF Dione.

Sire: Shangrila Born To Win
Dam: Chamel Fields Fruehling

Chamel Fields Satin Side of the Moon
Satin was sold to Leanne and Tim White Of Rumbrook Stud and was shown in 2006.  I am not
sure but I think this photo  was at the Nationals in that year.
She is a cremello pinto mare.

        Sire: Bond Kid Gloves
        Dam: Belka Valley's Cosmic Smoke

     Chamel Fields Silken Moon
Silke, a taffy buckskin minimal pinto mare, owned by John and Rosemary Bailey of Yeliab Miniature Horse    Stud, Balaklava has been extensively shown in South Australia since she was a yearling filly, and has done well in her classes during that time.  She is now entering motherhood, and her progeny are eagerly awaited.

Sire: Bond Kid Gloves
Dam: Shangrila Desert Serenade

Chamel Fields Larkspur
'Larky' is a buckskin appaloosa small horse stallion, owned by John and Rosemary Bailey of Yeliab Stud at Balaklava, who has sired several handsome colts for them.  He and John have a very special affinity for each  other which is a joy to see.

Sire: Bond Kid Gloves
Dam: Wildflower Shamans Wild Melody

Chamel Fields Fruehling
Fruehling won at the Nationals in the Amateur section at my very first National Show, and I can't remember the year!  Boy, was I chuffed!
She is now well and truly a chubby little broodmare, but still has a claim to fame as a dam of champions, CF Sweet William and CF Whisket.  Now owned by Julie and Mel Jackson of Finniss, SA along with her filly, CF Pandora, foaled this season.

Sire: Bond Kid Gloves
                          Dam: Beltona Party Girl

Chamel Fields Bright and Sparky
Sparky also won at the Nationals as a yearling gelding, the same show as Fruehling, above.
Sparky has always been a character with a sense of humour.    He is now owned by Lauren McGrath who now lives in Victoria.  He and his brother CF Sorcerer were my first carriage horses, and Sparky was actually driven at the Nationals the following year.

Sire: Bond Kid Gloves
Dam: Caramia Penny

Chamel Fields Windsong
Windsong, a taffy buckskin pinto mare was also a successful entrant at the National Show as a yearling filly .  She won her class in 2003 and has since become a mother, in 2008 of CF Chemise (see below).  Sadly, she lost a filly foal due a placental abruption during birth the next season.  She has since foaled a palomino gelding to Bond Kid Gloves (CF Golden Boy) and a taffy pinto colt to Ashfield Park Napoleonic Legend (CF Titan) this season.

Sire: Fairyland King of Hearts
Dam: Belka Valleys' Cosmic Smoke

Stock is always available, including broodmares and show quality younger stock, as well as Dexter cattle - sometimes steers, cows and heifers.  You won't see much of us at the shows - too busy with other things, but when you do, take note.  All those who have been to the Nationals so far have come home successful, so have a look at the  Sales List  to find your mini delight.    Or better still, consider a broodmare for your stallion, or even one in foal.

And don't forget about a holiday at Chamel Fields Farm Stay.  There is a discount for guests who end up buying a horse or a cow!
AND YOU GET TO ADOPT A HORSE FOR THE TIME OF YOUR STAY, like Scotty did -here seen with CF Sweet William as a little tacker!
