Chamel Fields Farmstay

During the worst of Covid, I, known as Farmer Judith by some of the youthful guests, retired from off property work, and am now  enjoying  my  farm stay hosting duties, sharing the peace, tranquility and sometimes frenetic activities  of farm life, as well as the magic of animals, with guests.
Springtime is still a special and busy time with foals and calves arriving throughout, time spent on  names for the little ones, and all the training and procedures needed to insure their healthy growth.  Last season produced a number of bulls, now steers and three little heifers, Val, Veralyn and Magdelene, she born Christmas Eve and called Maggie for short.  There was only one foal this year, a taffy filly out of CF Chemise named Micette who is developing nicely.  This Spring was my 'W' year for calves and was fortunate to be able to name four heifers - Wilda, Wanda, Win and Willie.   A very special foal arrived, a first live foal for Copper Princess who surprised me with Sweet Grace.  Princess had an early miscarriage after her first mating 5-6 years ago, and hadn't become pregnant since.
Foaling for the previous year produced a very handsome bay boy, Night Magic,  and Tiffany, a petite  blue-eyed cremello pinto filly.
